Gymnastics WA and the Women's Artistic Gymnastics Technical Committee have recently announced the 2019 Women's Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) State Squad Members. Please see below for a list of all athletes welcomed to the squad.
The WAG State Squad is an initiative supported by the WAG Technical Committee to reward and encourage our top athletes in the state of WA. Selected athletes will participate in two squad training sessions and will receive valuable coaching tips from some of Western Australia's most experienced gymnastics coaches. They will also have the opportunity to learn from David Hill, who is the Director of Eclipse Gymnastics in Ringwood, Victoria. David has over 25 years coaching experience, along with a strong background in coach education. His other roles have included being Coaching Coordinator for the Women's Technical Committee, Head Coach, Team Coach and Team Manager for the Women's National Levels State Team in Victoria. David holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Movement and is an accredited WAG High Performance Coach, MAG Advanced Coach and an Advanced Judge. David will also run a coach workshop after the first training session. More details on this will be provided to clubs shortly.
On top of learning valuable skills from experienced coaches, State Squad athletes will receive a squad singlet, certificate and pin. Athletes will also complete a physical testing component during the training sessions, with champions receiving a a trophy at the second session.
We would like to congratulate all of the athletes mentioned in the document below on this achievement and look forward to seeing them at the upcoming squad training sessions. Information on how to accept your position on the squad will be distributed via email within the coming week.
