WA were treated to some outstanding gymnastic performances right here in our beloved State Gymnastics Centre and at the Lords Recreation Centre at the Go for 2&5 GWA Autumn State Championships. We would like to congratulate to all gymnasts who competed across the 5 participating gymsports.

The premiere session of the event was held on the evening of Friday 5th May, featuring our top WA athletes in Women’s and Men’s Artistic Gymnastics in Hall 1 and Rhythmic Gymnastics in Hall 2. The audience were treated to the appearance of Olympian Emily Little coming first on beam, along with NCE gymnast Niamh Collins coming in first All Around and the Senior International State Champion. In Men’s Artistic Gymnastics we saw WA’s Senior International gymnast Gabriel O’Sullivan’s solid performances on all apparatus. We also saw Northern District’s gymnast Elija Meegan take home the title of WA’s Level 9 Open State Champion.

Over in Hall 2, we had our Rhythmic gymnasts showcasing an array of skills and the crowd saw our Senior International athlete Molly McConnell performing in hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon. Competing for the title of the Junior International State Champion, the Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy gymnast, Alexandra Synnerdahl took the win overall but also came first in three of the four apparatus.

Trampoline Gymnastics kicked off on the Saturday afternoon over in the Lords Recreation Centre and went through till Sunday. Eva Kierath from Peak Trampoline, our Senior Female Trampoline gymnast took the title of State Champion with her two beautifully executed routines. Our WA Trampoline Senior Male gymnast, Jack Petrie from High Flyers, also delivered a great perform for the crowd.

Across the rest of the weekend we saw some quality performances from all our WA gymnasts across all ages and the 5 participating gymsports with extremely impressive skills, disciplines and sportsmanship displayed.

We not only would like to congratulate our gymnasts but Gymnastics WA would like to thank our judges and volunteers who contributed their time selflessly towards the event, both behind the scenes in the lead up and on the competition floor at the event. An enormous thank you to all of you.
