Who We Are

Established in 1941, WA PCYC has seven metropolitan centres and twelve regional centres and a camp, all engaging and developing young people through a balance of intervention, diversion and recreational programs with our key partner, the WA Police Force, and other partners and non-government organisations. In addition, there are more than 20 PCYC Blue Light centres across the state. The organisation also operates fee for service mobile and outreach services. There are approximately 450,000 attendances recorded at PCYC and Blue Light activities and programs each year.

Position Description:

WA PCYC are currently looking for a fun and energetic Gymnastic coach to work on a casual basis and deliver high quality coaching in our Woman's and/or Men's Artistic Gymnastics program (MAG and WAG) at a variety of skill levels. The successful applicants will be required to provide relief support, Monday through to Saturday and be available to attend either of the metropolitan PCYC’s below:

·         Fremantle
·         Gosnells
·         Kensington
·         Midland
·         Rockingham
·         Serpentine
·         Subiaco

Duties will include :

·         Deliver lessons according to plans and programs.

·         Develop activity/training programs and associated documentation

·         Prepare assessment/evaluation criteria at an individual and program level

·         Liaise with the Head Coach to provide feedback and concerns

·         Ensure cleanliness of activity area and ensure equipment is maintained and used in a safe

·         manner.

·         Monitor delivery of program by assistant coaches

·         File Accident / Incident reports as needed

Selection Criteria

·         Hold or working towards a Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced Gymnastics WA coaching qualification

·         Experience in instructing/coaching activity classes.

·         Working with Children Check

·         Police Clearance

·         Excellent organisational and time management skills

·         Demonstrated ability to multi-task

·         Experience with Inclusion

We are currently seeking a Club Development Coordinator at Gymnastics WA

The Club Development Coordinator will be responsible for developing and delivering the Gymnastics WA Education and Club Engagement Plan. They will establish and maintain positive relationships with Member Clubs and key stakeholders to meet the needs and expectations of the Gymnastics WA community. The role will be responsible for managing the key club development targets against the Gymnastics WA Strategic and Operational Plans.

Duties may include;

  • Plan, coordinate and implement the Gymnastics WA Member Club Engagement Strategy
  • Plan and deliver Club Development workshops and forums for Member Clubs
  • Liaise and attend Local Governments, Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries and Gymnastics Australia on matters relating to Club Development and Club Administration. 
  • Coordinate the club affiliation process
  • Plan and deliver the Go for 2 & 5 Gymnastics WA Conference
  • Plan and implement regional Education opportunities for Gymnastics WA members
  • Provide leadership and oversight of the Gymnastics WA Education Calendar
  • Recruit, manage and train the Gymnastics WA Presenter and Assessor workforce
  • Ensure Gymnastics WA is promoting and rewarding key personnel to our community

Required qualifications, skills and experience;

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or equivalent experience 
  • An understanding of the sport of Gymnastics is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in working in Stakeholder or Member Engagement
  • Knowledge and administrative experience in a sporting organisation or similar role
  • Proven ability to effectively develop and manage initiatives and projects
  • Advanced planning, organisation and administration skills
  • An understanding of the sport of Gymnastics is highly desirable.

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification
  • National Police Check
  • Working with children check
  • Drivers Licence

Desirable Criteria

  • Qualified Gymnastics Coach

We are currently seeking a Communications Coordinator at the Gymnastics WA.

The Communication Coordinator will coordinate the communication on the Gymnastics WA’s social media sites and website and support the marketing of specific events and projects.

Required qualifications, skills and experience;

  • Advanced computer skills and information technology knowledge
  • Intermediate proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Use of social media – in particular for the use of strategic marketing
  • Website development – both technical and content
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to develop relationships with clubs, stakeholders and external customers
  • Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, relationship building and presentation skills.
  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills
  • Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant field (desired)
