Club Person of the Month: Serena Sandwell

This month shines light on one of Katanning’s greatest treasures: Serena Sandwell. Serena is a passionate individual who currently holds 8…..that’s right 8 different coaching accreditations. Serena is also an accredited Gymnastics Australia Presenter and Assessor and is very reliable in presenting most courses held in the Southern Region. On top of her coaching accreditations Serena is also the president of Great Southern Gymsports and has been the head honcho of the club since 2015. Before Great Southern Gymsports Serena was the owner of KA Gymsports for 6 years.

On top of the coaching, running the club, presenting and assessing courses for Gymnastics WA and sitting on the committee for the Southern Regional Gymnastics Association, Serena is also an elected member of the Shire of Katanning. I don’t know how Serena does it but she is absolutely amazing at juggling all these commitments and maintains a smile on her face and happy deposition. Gymnastics WA is very fortunate to have someone of Serena’s character in the gymnastics community.

You can’t put Gravity ETC down!

The WA Regional Achievement and Community Awards semi-finalists were announced earlier this month and Gravity ETC were announced a semi-finalist in the category of Business Achievement! Gravity is up against some worthy competitors but Gymnastics WA doesn’t doubt the great work that the club has done in the past year to go without notice. The winners of each category will be announced at the Gala Presentation Dinner on the 18th October. Good luck Gravity ETC!!
